Baltic professional substrates
In the substrate market or Growing Media as it has been newly defined, there has been in recent years a tendency of using 100% white peat in blocks and/or milled, or mixtures of both; the majority of growers in the vegetable, flower and nursery crops market uses this type of peat exclusively, no longer considering the classic German black type necessary, supplementing it eventually with minerals such as clay, pumice, perlite, etc., or coconut fiber/pith or wood fiber (all products available through Nuova Flesan). However, there are users (horticulture) or specific cultivations (cyclamens) which require a component of dark peat in the substrate. In addition to German products containing classic black peat in percentage, years ago Nuova Flesan opted to create/identify two product sources for a complete and functional range of substrates:
1) Growing medium 100% white peat in all the necessary fractions and needs;
2) Growing medium 50% Baltic black peat + 50% white peat RHP in blocks.

The Baltik Grow group of white peat-based substrates includes numerous particle size fractions suitable for all horticultural and floricultural uses. The standard composition is 50% milled peat and 50% block peat, but mixtures with 100% block peat are also possible. For specific horticultural uses, mixtures with 20-30% brown peat are also available. This product group therefore allows the cultivation of all crops (vegetables, floriculture, and nursery plants), in any pot size and with any irrigation technique. Each product contains a wetting agent and can be added to perlite and/or bentonite clay upon request. pH and fertilization can be adjusted as desired. Big bales can be 6.0 or 4.8 m3, depending on the pallet size (100 x 110 cm or 80 x 120 cm). The 70-litre bag format is not available in this product group.
